I said I wasn't going to watch anymore this year, but yet I still watched most of the last Jets game. The thought of the city of New York having 2 parades in 3 months makes me feel like puking. And the chances are good cause that team just has tons of luck just like the Giants 2 years ago.

Yeah, when I started working at Amazon I worked every Sunday during the 2007 season, so I pretty much missed every non night game. And the NFL hype machine is so big and powerful here, at first I felt like I was missing out on tons of important games and moments but the more I missed the more I realized I don't really care about any team except the Pats. But it's the way they market the NFL that makes me not want to watch, like the fact I'm heard last week, and the week before 'Saturday Night is Football Night in America' I mean really? You can't come up with anything better than ripping off CBC - not only that but most of the people in the country don't know of HNIC so they'll probably think the opposite which will annoy me.

And I find peoples reactions to me not caring about football makes me like it less. Like I said at work I didn't watch the SuperBowl last year, you've thought it killed someone. Plus when people find out I don't really care about the NFL as a whole, they feel the need to take pot shots at the NHL - which makes me not want to watch even more.

But yeah.. idk... It's too slow and too many commercials for me personally. I didn't grow up watching football or playing, so I don't really care for the strategy aspect - whereas baseball I did, even though I know it's the slowest sport I see it like a chess match. Now that I've somehow made it out of the hype machine I'm planning on staying out.

I hear ya on people bashing hockey, or well just not knowing about the NHL. I love the 4 major sports. And won't say anything bad about them. I'll never make it out of the football hype machine. I hate the pace sometimes, and yes commercials are definitely worst in the NFL. But something appeals me to keep watching the games. My mom and dad have had Super Bowl parties every year since they were married. So I always thought of football as a huge sport, and the Super Bowl as the biggest game each year. In a way it is, since its just 1 game deciding the winner. Unlike the Stanley Cup Finals, World Series, NBA Finals. Teams have more than 1 chance, you obviously know all this but just saying. It just has crazy hype to the game. And I guess that's why NFL is so hyped up. Just 1 game for each team a week. They kind of have a more important feel each week compared to some nhl, mlb and nba games during the season. Every game is important in those 3 leagues too though. Cause sometimes you miss or get in the playoffs by one games. Idk where I'm going with this now lol.
